The Bunker wallpaper includes the crane bird, symbol of resurrection; the fleur-de-lis, symbol of the Holy Trinity, the Virgin Mary, Flanders, to name but a few; as well as the more obvious Tornado F3 jet.
The ‘Jettison’ series is housed on the shelves and the framed image depicts fleur-de-lis graffiti from Cramond Island WW2 bunker in the Firth of Forth. The accompanying printed fall-out suits were for the viewing public to wear, enhancing the installation experience.
Bunker has since been installed at Impact 7 in Melbourne in 2011, the SSA Bridges exhibition in Slovakia in 2011 and at Faithfull’s solo show Palindrome Panoramique’ in Quebec City in 2012. It is part of the Glasgow International’s ‘Art Lending Library’ with the Market Gallery in April 2012.
