‘Perpetual Landscape’ incorporates debossed, carved cedar wood contour covers, with screen-printed debossed pages incorporating powdered Feldspar, Anorthosite, Moonrock, graphite and seaweed medium.
Faithfull’s Landscape interventions involve a broad range of experimental processes and forms through Drawing, Printmaking, Artist’s Books, Multiples and Murals, to installation and site-specific pieces. Often integrating the minerals and elements from the location, much of his work involves interpreting remote landscapes through text, carving and print. Current investigations include drawing with oak-gall ink, printing squid ink and seaweed medium directly on tidal beaches (Barcelona, Santander, Sognefjord, Mull and Portobello) and alchemical investigations with powdered Anorthosite moon rock and Basalt.
David Faithfull first created ‘Perpetual Landscape’ for Magical Octopus Sequel, exhibited at Knockvologan on Mull in 2021 and later at the Scottish Landscape awards in Edinburgh 2023/24.
David Faithfull collaborated with Dutch artist in creating ‘Perpetual Landscape’.
